  21. 1. Installation Instructions

  24. To Install:
  25. * Begin at the Windows 95 desktop.  
  26. * Insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.  
  27. * ClickArt Web Site Workshop setup window will 
  28. appear.  
  29. * Click the Install button and follow the on-screen 
  30. instructions to install the program.  
  31.  
  32. If ClickArt Web Site Workshop setup window does 
  33. not appear automatically on screen, you can install 
  34. the program manually:  
  35. * Click the Start button on the taskbar and choose Run.  
  36. * Type D:\SETUP.EXE in the line labeled Open.  (If 
  37. your CD-ROM drive uses a letter other than D, 
  38. substitute that letter for D.)  
  39. * Click the OK button and follow the on-screen 
  40. instructions to install ClickArt Web Site Workshop.

  42. After Installation:
  43. If ClickArt Web Site Workshop startup window 
  44. does not appear automatically on screen:
  45. * Begin at the Windows 95 desktop.  
  46. * Click the Start button, point to Programs, and then 
  47. ClickArt Web Site Workshop 1.0.
  48. * Click ClickArt Web Site Workshop 1.0 menu item 
  49. to start the program.

  51. To Remove the Software:
  52. If you need to remove ClickArt Web Site Workshop:
  53. * Begin at the Windows 95 desktop.  
  54. * Click the  Start button, point to Settings, and then 
  55. click Control Panel. 
  56. * Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.  
  57. * Click the Install/Uninstall tab if necessary, and 
  58. select ClickArt Web Site Workshop from the list 
  59. of programs. 
  60. * Click the Add/Remove button and then click the Yes 
  61. button to remove the program. 
  62. * Click OK to clear the screen when the task is 
  63. completed.

  67. 2. Special Notes for America Online(R) Customers
  68.  
  69. If you use America Online (AOL) to access the Word Wide 
  70. Web, you need to launch and sign onto AOL before you 
  71. Preview or Publish your ClickArt Web Site Workshop site. 
  72.  
  73. If you have problems publishing ClickArt Web Site 
  74. Workshop sites through the Publish to Web feature, 
  75. use the Publish to Folder feature in ClickArt Web 
  76. Site Workshop and upload your site through the
  77. America Online FTP utility.
  78.  
  79. Remember to remove files from your AOL directory before you republish 
  80. a site or place a new site up on the directory. In AOL use the 
  81. keyword: My Place
  82.  
  83. We recommend this log in name format in the Log in/User Name field of 
  84. ClickArt Web Site Workshop Publish to Web feature,
  85. username@members.aol.com. Username being your AOL username.

  91. 3.      Troubleshooting
  92.  
  93. Remember to contact your Internet Service Provider or Web Hosting 
  94. Service for the following information:
  95.  
  96. * Your ISPs or Web Hosting Service's File Transfer Protocol (FTP) 
  97. address for uploading your Web site.
  98. * Your log on name
  99. * Your password
  100. * Your file upload directory path
  101. * Your Web site Uniform Resource Locator (URL)
  102. * Registering for Web page space
  103.  
  104. Web Animations and Links
  105. You can test your Web Animations and Links by publishing or previewing 
  106. your site. The links and animations are only active during these 
  107. processes.
  108.  
  109. Web Animations 
  110. Some of the Web Animations have transparent backgrounds. You can see if 
  111. an Animation has a transparent background by placing it on the page and 
  112. changing the background. If the Animation background changes with the 
  113. page's background, it is transparent.

  115. Printing
  116. The Print function works like a World Wide Web Browser's print function. 
  117. The application prints the current page. To print out each page, select 
  118. that page and print using the Print button on the toolbar.
  119.  
  120. Photo Accessories
  121. There are certain images and graphics in this package that 
  122. are designed to create photo collages. Because of the limitations of 
  123. overlapping objects in HTML, these images cannot be used to create 
  124. collages in ClickArt Web Site Workshop.  You can export these graphics
  125. to a different graphics program of your choice.

  127. Overwriting index.html in Directories
  128. Because World Wide Web Browsers look for the first page of Web sites to 
  129. be named index.htm or index.html, many Web Design programs name their 
  130. Web sites with this name including ClickArt Web Site Workshop. 
  131. Before you publish a Web site created by ClickArt Web Site Workshop, 
  132. double-check your server directories to make sure there isn't another 
  133. Web site in them. If there is, save these Web sites to your hard drive, 
  134. then publish the Web site created by ClickArt Web Site Workshop.
  135. ClickArt Web Site Workshop will over-write any index.htm or 
  136. index.html it finds in the publishing directory.

  138. Installing Adobe Acrobat
  139. This product comes with an electronic manual.  To view the manual, 
  140. you must first install Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) Reader.  Please 
  141. refer to Manual.txt in the WSManual directory of the CD-ROM 
  142. for instructions on installing Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) Reader version 3.01.

  144. Importing Large Text Files
  145. On some computer configurations, ClickArt Web Site Workshop 
  146. can not import text files larger than 9K. If you run into this 
  147. problem, reduce the size of your *.txt or *.rtf file and 
  148. re-import the text into ClickArt Web Site Workshop.

  150. Troubleshooting for Publishing
  151. Make sure you are connected to the Internet before you publish.
